I'm very lucky to have stumbled onto this field after finishing school. Like most kids I was somewhat lost what to do and pondered a business oriented career. On a hunch I decided to enrol in a film/animation course thinking I might become a cameraman or editor but quickly figured out that software like Maya, Combustion, eyeon Fusion and later Nuke were what interested me most.
Eventhough I am mainly a Compositing Artist, I do cover a wider range of the VFX workloads that may occur on your typical or not so typical project. Most of the skills I posess were acquired by being thrown (or jumping) into cold water. Luckily I am able to quickly adapt to new tools or challenges so I am quite flexible if the need arises. This is backed by a deep understanding of different Operating systems, network hardware & protocols, storage and cloud solutions. After all, I have been sitting behind a monitor for 25+ years (ignore the dark circles around my eyes).
